Ironically, I was actually bitten by a wild dog* last Saturday, spent the evening at A&E. That being said, cheetahs also have claws and while they’re not lions they take down antelopes. You can look up Big Cat Rescue to see hundreds of stories of big felines who had to be rescued and brought to a sanctuary after they went ‘wild’ on their owners for no particular reason; or stories of owners who had their lynx and servals maul them (and those are smaller than cheetahs).
It is insane that the US allows these wild animals to be kept as pets. Cats themselves are barely domesticated, Temple Grandin speaks about that quite a bit in one of her books.
*it was actually a labrador, in the streets of Paris, with clearly psycho owners. He went straight through my hand.. I’ll let you imagine what a cheetah could do.
