I had one (veiled) for a year without any problems. Just kept up on the moisture, kept my place fairly warm, used a timer for the lights, fed her a few crickets daily with a powdered supplement on them. She also ate some of the plants I put in there with her, so if you’re going to go with natural plants, make sure they aren’t poisonous.
I had to go home for a week during Christmas break, so I packed all of my stuff up and moved her to my brother’s, keeping her warm and comfortable the whole time (she never left her enclosure, we just moved it). His place was just too damn cold, though, and she didn’t make it.
Overall, I think they’re pretty easy, but as /u/Dynamaxion said, they are unforgiving when it comes to making a crucial mistake.
If I had the money, I’d think about getting another. My cat enjoyed watching her (and eating the escapee crickets) and she was really quite sociable for a reptile, crawling up on my arms and trying to get tangled in my hair. I do miss her.
