Humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) lunging out of the water in Tromsø, Norway

I live on this island in Tromsø (Kvaløya, which actually means Whale Island) and if I remember this place correctly what you’re looking at here are mostly old garages and small farm- and boathouses. If you look close to the whale you see a white, pretty typical rural house. But we do indeed live predominantly in woodhouses (on cement foundation), something foreigners seem to find strange. I never understood why not? We got plenty of it, easy to work with, durable and long lasting, strong and flexible. Expands and contracts as the temperature demands. As long as you treat the surface well it will stand any weather we get for ages. Not sure if I’m answering:P
