Was sitting in the park one day when a peregrine falcon sort of crash landed in a tree briefly. Had red-winged blackbirds just going crazy chasing and attacking it. As it left the tree we saw that it had one in it’s talons. Then it just flew off, with the blackbirds still in pursuit.
Probably one of my most epic and random wildlife encounters. Since I’m not generally expecting to see a ton of wildlife in a park that’s adjacent to the downtown area of a small city. I know we have falcons, just never expected to see something like that so up close and personal, they were a mere stones throw away.
