A Happy Namaqua Chameleon in the Namib Desert

Share this on Facebook download .zip with all pictures

UNhappy chameleon. By angering and frightening a chameleon in desert sun (where his colors would typically be as close to white as he could get them), you are risking his life due to overheating (as he would never darken that much in midday sun naturally).

Chameleons aren’t ever friendly, or cute, or cuddly. They are extremely fragile animals that scare easily because their bones are very small and brittle and they know they can’t take you on in a fight.

If you want to take pictures of happy chameleons in the wild, get a telephoto lens and get the fuck back.
